Self-deception has a thousand faces and a thousand ways of disguising itself in us. How can one discover it and get rid of it?

It is a long, slow task which can only be accomplished by a perfect sincerity. One must be very attentive, always on guard, watch all one’s emotional movements and vital reactions, never close one’s eyes with indulgence to one’s own weaknesses, and catch oneself each time one makes a mistake, even a small one.

If one continues with persistence, this becomes very interesting and gets easier and easier.
